Countryside Elementary School

DiNisco is designing a replacement for a public school suffering from space inefficiencies that hinder its ability to support its educational program. Over 2/3 of the site sits within the 200′ Riverfront Protection Act area, including 1/2 of the existing building. Chronic flooding has been a problem for many years as nearly the entire site falls within a FEMA Flood Zone. The new school will be located at the highest location on the site, thus creating opportunities for natural wooded wetlands and unique outdoor education spaces.
